Declan Schlichting

Born and raised in Madison, I attended Blackhawk Middle School, and later Madison East High School, where I played soccer and became captain of the team for my senior year.  Having played soccer since age 6, I'm still playing, both through the UW-Madison intramural sports program and also in a men's league with a couple of my former high school coaches.  I'm also taking business prerequisites in order to pursue my goal of attending the University of Wisconsin School of Business, where I intend to pursue a degree in Management.  My vision for the future is unclear at the moment, but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.

The Arndt Family Scholarship has had a very positive impact on my life, as it allows me to focus solely on my academics and having the best college experience possible.  It also enhances my desire to achieve at my highest level, not only to represent my family and those close to me, but the Arndt family as well.  In that same vein, the Arndt Family Scholarship, in addition to improving the lives of my fellow Scholars, it allows us to be the role models we've been our entire academic careers, and it allows us to be leaders of our fellow students and help them to achieve their full potential as well.
